IHUBApp offers a convenient way for users to upload various types of files, such as documents, videos, and audio files, to enhance their pages and posts. However, before you dive into the uploading process, ensure you have the necessary permissions and package features enabled. This guide will walk you through the steps of uploading files to IHUBApp and provide best practices for handling different file types.

Before You Begin

Before proceeding, make sure you have:

1. Appropriate Package: Verify that you have purchased a package that allows file uploads. IHUBApp offers different packages with varying features, and file upload capabilities may be restricted based on your package. See our pricing plans here.

2. Administrative Access: Ensure you have the necessary administrative access to upload files to your IHUBApp account. See user permissions here.

3. Knowledge of File Size Limits: Be aware of the file size limits imposed by your package, as these limits may vary.

Best Practices for Documents and Other Files

Uploading a document file? Before you do, read the below! 

Before you upload a file, consider if the content in the document can be loaded directly into the page or post.  There's a few reasons why:

• Usability: Whether your using the IHUBApp for an app, website or Intranet, the more content in your Hub the easier it is for you users to FIND what they are looking for with our built-in search functionality.
• SEO: All that great content will be hidden inside of your file and you won't receive the enhanced SEO  benefiits.
• Accessibility: Loading your content into a page or post ensures accessibility for users who may not have the necessary software to open specific file types. For instance, a user without a PDF viewer may struggle to access PDF files.
  

Audio and Video File Considerations

• Consistent In-Hub Experience: Keep in mind that audio and video files will automatically launch using the default media player on the user's device. By leveraging third-party services such as Youtube, Vimeo, or other Podcast solutions you will ensure a consistent in-hub experience for your users.
• For Video Files: To ensure a consistent in-app playback experience for video files, consider uploading them to platforms like YouTube or Vimeo and then use our post-from-link tool for easy embedding.
• For Audio FIles: If you are already using a third-party service (e.g., for a podcast), it's recommended to use the embed feature provided by that service. This ensures a consistent experience for users and maintains the audio's quality.

Uploading Files

1. Log in to your IHUBApp account and access the page or post where you want to upload a document.

2. Go to the body of the page or post. Click on the "+" icon and select "Add File"
   

3. Choose the document you want to upload from your device's storage.

   1. If you don't see this feature: it may be because it is unavailable to you because of your plan or access.
   2. If you see the feature but the file doesn't upload: it could be because the file is too large for the plan you have selected.
4. Provide a brief description or context for the document within the post or page.

Uploading Audio and Video Files?

1. To upload audio or video files, follow the same initial steps as you would for documents by clicking the "Upload" or "Add File" button within the desired page or post.

2. Select the audio or video file you wish to upload.
