The engine of the IHUBApp is found in the ability to post content into Channels. All channels function the same, except your Home Channel.
The IHUBApp Home Channel plays an important role in your Hub. Not only is it the welcoming face of your digital hub, it also has important functions and special features that help to drive engagement into your customers. Let's embark on a journey to discover the unique attributes of the Home Channel and learn how to make the most of them.
Home Channel & Newsfeed: How it works in your Hub!
Picture the Home Channel as the grand entrance to your digital brand universe. It's not just a channel; it's the main welcome page that unfolds for every user as they step into your hub. This is where everyone gathers, a virtual town square bustling with activity and engagement.
How your IHUBApp Home Channel Works:
- Members are Automatically Added
Every individual who registers for the IHUBApp is automatically added as a member of your Home Channel. (Note: This is non-optional because it is what makes the IHUBApp work. Read on to learn why.) - The Newsfeed Aggregation Function of the Home Channel
The Newsfeed on the Home Channel behaves differently then the feeds on your other channel. The Home Channel Newsfeed automatically is updated and personalized for your users who are viewing the feed while signed in. It does this by aggregarating those Posts from the Channels to which your readers have subscribed. This allows them to see all the content they are interested in once easy to reference feed. - The Home Channel AUTOMATICALLY Broadcasts to EVERYONE
You can also publish directly to the Home Channel, but it's important to understand what happens when you do!
The Home Channel could also be called the "Broadcast Channel" because when posts are added directly, it is automatically seen by everyone.
When you publish a Post on the Home Channel the following happens:- The Post is able to be seen by anyone who visits your Hub. This includes non-registered users.
- The Post is automatically added to the Weekly Newsletter for everyone who has registered with your Hub.
- The Post automatically sends out push notifications to all those who have installed or added their Hub to their phones.
WARNING: Users HATE being spammed. Use the power of your Home Channel judiciously and carefully. Use posts directly published to the Home Channel to:
- Highlight channels that your Hub Users may want to join. When they do, they will automatically see that content available on the Home Channel Newsfeed.
- Provide important alerts and messages that are critical to your Hub users.
