Reporting Process & DMCA Policy
1. Introduction
As a publishing system, InspireHub does not create or upload content on behalf of users but provides a space where users can publish their own materials. We take reports of content violations seriously, including DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) takedown requests, community conduct violations, and acceptable use violations. This policy outlines the steps to report such violations and our review process.
2. How to Report a Violation
If you believe that content on our platform violates copyright, trademark, or community guidelines, you must submit a report through our Report a Hub form in our Help Center. Before submitting, we strongly encourage you to review this policy to understand what constitutes a valid report.
Reportable Violations Include:
- DMCA/Copyright Infringement: Unauthorized use of copyrighted materials.
- Community Conduct Violation: Hate speech, harassment, threats, or other prohibited behavior.
- Acceptable Use Violation: Misuse of our platform for fraud, spam, or other prohibited activities.
3. Submitting a Report
To file a report, please visit our Report a Hub form and provide the following details:
- Your full name and contact information.
- The organization you represent (if applicable).
- The company or individual whose rights you are reporting on behalf of (if applicable).
- The URL(s) of the reported hub.
- A detailed description of the issue, including how it violates our policies.
- Proof of ownership or authorization (for DMCA/trademark claims).
- Screenshots or supporting evidence (if applicable).
- Whether you have contacted the hub owner directly about the issue.
Reports that do not contain sufficient details may be delayed or rejected.
4. DMCA & Copyright Infringement Claims
As InspireHub is a publishing system where hub owners may use copyrighted materials for various purposes, it is important to consider whether the material used falls under fair use before submitting a DMCA notice. If you are reporting copyright infringement under the DMCA, you must provide:
- A description of the copyrighted work that has allegedly been infringed.
- The URL(s) of the infringing content.
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is unauthorized.
- A statement that the information in your request is accurate and under penalty of perjury.
- Your electronic signature.
If you are not sure whether material located on a hub infringes on your copyright, or if it is subject to fair use protections, you should first consider seeking legal advice.
If you are not the rights owner, you must submit documentation showing that you are authorized to act on their behalf.
Upon receiving a complete and valid DMCA notice, we will review the claim and may temporarily disable the content while notifying the hub owner.
5. Verification & Review Process
Once we receive a report, we follow these steps:
- Review the report for completeness – If key details are missing, we may request additional information.
- Verify ownership claims – For DMCA or trademark claims, we will confirm the provided proof of ownership or authorization.
- Contact the hub owner (if necessary) – If appropriate, we may notify the hub owner and provide them a chance to respond.
- Make a determination – If the report is valid, we will take necessary action, which may include removing content, suspending a hub, or issuing warnings.
- Notify both parties of the decision – We will communicate our decision to the requester and the hub owner.
6. Appeals & Counter-Notices
If a hub owner disagrees with a DMCA claim, they can submit a counter-notice stating that they have the right to use the content. This must include:
- The hub owner’s full name and contact details.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that they have a good faith belief that the content was removed in error.
- Their electronic signature.
If a counter-notice is received, we may reinstate the content unless the original requester initiates legal action within 10 business days.
7. Misuse of the Reporting Process
Submitting false or misleading reports may result in consequences, including account suspension or legal action. All reports should be submitted in good faith.
8. Contact for Legal Inquiries
